Xanthelasma
Xanthelasma is a raised lesion on the skin of the eyelids and surrounding tissue, which we call papules or plaques, with a yellow or off-white appearance. These plaques contain fat cells and inflammatory cells. Although an imbalance in blood lipid (blood fat cells) levels is detected in the majority of patients, it can also occur at normal lipid levels. It mostly causes cosmetic rather than functional complaints in patients. The lesions are not temporary and tend to grow after they form. The treatment is performed with laser treatment systems in suitable patients, and surgically in patients who are not suitable for laser treatments in terms of location or size.
